where it all BEGAN
The family business began in the 60's with Gordan and Irma Thomas by catching catfish in traps and trot lines in the wild then, sold their fresh catch to a local wholesale dealer. By the 70's catching tilapia fish was introduced into the trade by cast net.
In 1983, Gordan and Irma began buying fish from local fishermen and selling to wholesale buyers in Florida and Georgia.
As time passed, Gordan and Irma retired and their son Phil and his wife Sue carried on the family legacy.
Get Seafood Inc.
Get Seafood Inc. was created in 1995. "Get" name originated from Gordan's name (Gordan Earl Thomas). Phil continued as both a fisherman and a wholesale dealer.
In 2001, the tides changed when Phil purchased his first semi to haul their company's product.
This allowed Get Seafood to expand in hauling their own fish to new customers not just locally. In 2008, Get Seafood expanded again by adding mullet and other salt water products as well as venturing further into the trucking side of the industry.
